Watch out gardeners! The thrip is downright destructive, attacking the flowers, fruit and foliage of all kinds of plants, from ornamentals to edibles, stunting their growth and leaving them less then desirable to look at. These tiny, slender insects scrape tissue from your plants and drink their sap, resulting in leaves that shrink and curl up. Thrips are also known to spread plant viruses such as the tomato wilt virus.
Symptoms- Typical symptoms of a thrip infestation include white mottled-looking leaves with silver streaks and yellow or browning patches on petals and fruits. Small black droppings appear on the leaves as well.
